A one-stop nation-wide database for incentives?

Folks!

I think you gotta see this.

I was (still am) poking around in the info-gathering stages of adding the heat pump/split ac to the master bedroom and stumbled across a very interesting website.

Bottom line up front (BLUF): a one stop shop for finding policies and incentives by state.

I’ll give the link in a moment, but first I’d like to ask that you make sure and take a look at the ‘about us’ section of this website so you can properly position the information it provided.

Meaning, on the surface it appears to be run by a fairly well known state college, but when I go through some of the links I see referral codes (some of the links are affiliate links).

That said, scope this out!

“Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency” (R)
https://www.dsireusa.org/

On the landing page is a map of the U.S. and each state shape is a clickable link.

I followed several of the links in the Arizona section and found it takes us directly to source documents…

Seems legit to me, but who truly knows? (It is on the internet, so…)

As a side note, yesterday we had the little neighborhood Independence Day gathering. One couple there had solar and the Admiral and I had an opportunity to chat with them.

In summary- they are extremely happy and recommend it for their family and friends. They also got theirs installed nearly the same time as another neighbor who had a horrible experience with the installation process- and the answer this couple says is making sure to investigate the company doing business with.

More- they strongly feel that a home owner needs to be involved with the entire process to monitor what the install company is doing (validating they pulled proper permits, installing the panels per design, etc.).

All of this serves to validate my long held position that rooftop solar technology had advanced to a point where it is viable, reliable, and in many cases affordable- BUT there’s plenty of bad actors in the industry (knowingly or unknowingly) which makes validating who we do business with paramount.

Anyways, it is good to hear they love it so much they suggest their friends and family look into it. (Sucks to hear another poor-results due to company performance story though).

Be Good!
