A very real THREAT to home owners and what to do
Stumbled across this horror story today and had to share it…
Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): A property was ‘sold’ without the actual property owner knowing, much less agreeing.
And, they’re having a devil of a time getting it resolved…
Complete with the Country Recorder’s office shrugging their shoulders and the title company deflecting ‘not our fault’, and/or demanding the victim pay for damages the title company incurred because of the fraudulent sale…
Can’t make this shtuff up!
N4T Investigators: Property sold without owners knowledge highlights deed fraud risks

Evidently, though, there is one thing we supposedly can do.
In the linked article is a link to a service offered by the Pima County Recorder’s office where you can submit your name and if any documents are filed using that name, you will get a notification.
In theory, that should allow you to react in a quicker fashion- hopefully getting there before ‘it is too late’…
I followed the link, it wasn’t intuitive for me, but I think I got registered for my name and the Admiral’s name… hopefully this will never be needed- but if so, I hope I got signed up correctly.
Hope everyone is safe in this heat wave. Phoenix set a record high overnight-low at 97F last night… Internet says it didn’t go below 100F until like 3am or something.
TEP power outage continues from the aggressive monsoon that hit Monday. They put up stations to distribute water and ice, and the RedCross set up a cooling station at a local school.
Serious business in the desert southwest…
Be Good!
